Who Are We
Diken Metabolic Health Centre is a specialist clinic in Abuja treating obesity, type 2 diabetes, hypertension, fatty liver disease, insulin resistance, PMOS, and related conditions. We see clients in person in Abuja, and remotely for those elsewhere in Nigeria and beyond.

Why DMHC Exists

Founder
Meet Dr. Mathew Okoh
Dr. Mathew Okoh has more than 25 years of experience as a clinician and public health research. He holds advanced postgraduate training in obesity medicine from the United Kingdom and a PhD in Public Health.
He is one of fewer than 2,000 clinicians worldwide to hold the SCOPE Certification from the World Obesity Federation, the internationally recognised standard of excellence in obesity management.
His clinical focus includes the remission of type 2 diabetes and hypertension, treating visceral fat and its effects on organ health, managing metabolic syndrome and PMOS, and restoring metabolic function in clients who were once told that lifelong medication was their only option.
His work is shaped by a personal frustration: watching patients follow medical advice faithfully and still fail to improve. That frustration is why he founded DMHC. He believed the need was too great to ignore, and he brings something to this work that no certification alone can capture, the resolve of a doctor who, after two decades of watching people struggle, decided to build a better path.
Beyond the clinic, Dr. Okoh shares his message in public spaces. He has appeared on News Central, Aso TV, Global TV, and ADBN TV, discussing topics from nutrition and obesity to child health and chronic disease. He also takes part in medical outreaches that bring clinical care to underserved communities.
